The Dunlop D404 is a value-oriented, bias-ply street tire built for standard, light-cruiser, and vintage-style motorcycles; Dunlop explicitly states it is not recommended for Harley-Davidson use because it generally lacks the load capacity specified for those bikes. Front and rear tread patterns are designed to aid water evacuation and wet grip, with an offset center groove on the rear for straight-line stability, and the compound targets a balance of mileage and grip rather than outright performance. It serves as original equipment on a range of standard/cruiser platforms and is sold across more than 20 size combinations spanning 15", 16", 17", 18", 19", and 21" wheels. One front size, 120/90-17, is built as a tube-type (TT) tire; the rest of the line is tubeless.
