The Avon 3D Ultra Sport is a radial hypersport street tire sold as a matched front (AV79) and rear (AV80) pairing, positioned by Avon for sport and sport-touring motorcycles. It uses Avon's Super Rich Silica (SRS) tread compound to improve wet grip, combined with 3D interlocking sipe technology for added stability and grip while limiting tread flex. Avon shaped the tread and casing for a large contact footprint at extreme lean angles, targeting consistent handling across a range of road and weather conditions. It sat in Avon's lineup below the track-oriented 3D Supersport, and has since been discontinued and effectively succeeded first by the 3D Ultra Evo and now by the current 3D Supersport.
